Cuban-born guitarist Arturo Fuerte was raised in the bosom of a modest local family. While his passion for music was growing, he made his first guitar out of wood and fishing wire. Later, the talented musician graduated from Havana’s Amadeo Roldan conservatory, holding a master’s degree in classical guitar, and he moved to the U.S. in 1980. Arturo Fuerte recorded his debut album, called Passion, in 1995, followed by Illusion, released after a live performance at Miami’s Coconut Grove on March 18, 1998. After issuing Obsession, playing a mixture of flamenco, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, and gypsy rumba, Universal Music released his fourth album, Gypsy Heart (Corazón Latino), in September of 2000.
